I keep wondering if technology has made it so that we can build cars to the old 1.5L formula in our garages with some added safety for cheap. Seriously, Hayabusa 1400 motor, donor suspension from a Miata, and a heap of steel rail and you’ve got yourself an old F1 car that’s probably faster.

Modern Formula Fords are basically that, just with less horsepower. Not even that much less, a modern one makes around 120, and according to Wikipedi Jim Clark’s 1965 Lotus had around 170. The small V8s looked a lot cooler though.

Considering that many modern sports cars are faster and safer than Formula 1 cars of just a couple decades ago, for sure. And I'm not talking hyper-cars either.
